“The COVID-19 pandemic has illustrated what happens when the government fails to deliver on what Americans expect and need. Americans believe that it is the responsibility of the U.S. government to keep its people safe and sound, invest for the future, and be good stewards of taxpayer dollars and well-regulated markets—in short, to create a fair system that gives everybody a shot at the American dream. Sadly, in recent years, the federal government has failed on most of these issues, as the concurrent public health crisis and deep recession wreak massive hardship for millions of families.1 Unsurprisingly, Americans are frustrated across the board, with 69 percent stating in a recent poll that the United States is on the wrong track when it comes to fiscal policy management.2”

After reading through this article, I found that we were already having issues with lower income families and having enough money for them to support their families. This article talks about how the U.S government is failing to do it’s part to help out the citizens of the U.S. I agree with some of what this article has to say about this issue but at the same time, it’s not the governments fault if you don’t go out and make sure that you're providing your family with the correct amount of money to support yourselves. I think of it this way. If you want to make sure that you're gonna survive, you will do anything and everything in your power to make sure that happens. You can’t just go a lifetime without working an actual job. I do feel that the government does need to do a better job providing the people of the U.S with more job opportunities but at the end of the day, it’s the people of the U.S that are working. This is what I feel after reading through this article.

Decline in Jobs Since Pandemic |
Solution |
Growth in jobs and wages at small businesses slowed in October, according to payroll giant Paychex, although job growth in the South increased for the second month in a row, and wages are set to go up in Florida after voters passed a minimum wage ballot initiative in Tuesday’s election. Another payroll service provider, Gusto, also reported a slowdown in employment growth at small businesses Thursday.
The latest Paychex | IHS Markit Small Business Employment Watch, released Tuesday, indicated a moderation in its small-business hiring index compared to September, slipping 0.13 percent nationally to 94.32. Hourly earnings growth was 2.88 percent in October, slowing to the kind of pre-pandemic levels last seen in early 2020. Weekly hours worked remained positive, up 0.38 percent from last year, although both one-month and three-month annualized growth posted negative rates in October. https://www.accountingtoday.com/news/job-growth-and-wage-growth-slowed-at-small-businesses-in-october-says-paychex |
This article is talking about how people aren’t making as much money as they should be. This is all due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Lots of businesses are losing money from their regular customers because they aren’t coming in as often. My solution to this is to just open everything back up to full capacity and have people proceed at their own risks.
